Bike PARTners

A student at Roosevelt elementary learning how to fix her tires.

Bike PARTners introduces 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students to bikes as serious transportation and healthy recreation and models principles of environmental stewardship.  Volunteers teach simple mechanical and bike safety skills to students and refurbish used bikes.

History:
Bike PARTners began as a volunteer shop at Mercy Housing three years ago and now operates out of Intercity Transit. It visited Madison Elementary and began regular workshops at Roosevelt Elementary in spring 2011. Bike PARTners will expand to 3 new schools during the 2011-2012 school year.
