A Fresh Load to Refurbish

Twenty bikes were brought down from King County Metro, through the Bicycle Alliance of Washington, by our volunteers Bob Duffy and Anne Van Sweringer on Thursday.

Thanks to Erin Scheel for the new storage container the Bike PARTners have at Intercity Transit's maintenance yard. There's now plenty of space to keep bike stock for the upcoming school year.

In Washington the tide is turning against infrastructure that doesn't support multi-modes of transportation. This tasty fact was found while perusing the planning blog Planetizen."A mile of new urban highway costs $46-100 million, according to former House of Representative Transportation chairman Jim Oberstar, while a mile of 12-foot-wide bikeway costs $125,000." That's a smaller footprint on the ground AND the budget.
